The tradition of theological studies at Rachol has a long and
illustrious history. In 1887, Pope Leo XIII, by his Apostolic Letter
Quum Venerabilis Frater, granted to the Seminary the faculty of
bestowing the academic degree of Bacheler in Theology. Later,
in 1931, this privilege was revoked when Pope Pius XI, through his
ia Apostolic Constitution Deus Scientiarum Dominus, reserved
the granting of degrees to Universities or Faculties that were
canonically erected.
Building on this legacy. GSIT has been re-established to continue
the theological formation of seminarians in fidelity to the Church’s
academic standards.
