Annual Paddy Transplantation

The Archbishop, Most Rev. Filipe Neri Cardinal Ferrão blessed the paddy field before the commencement of the paddy transplantation.
The event drew enthusiastic participation from young people representing the parishes of Quepem, Varca, Mapusa, Usgao, Navelim, Cuncolim and Fatorda. They joined seminarians in transplanting paddy saplings in the seminary fields, alongside priests, parish leaders and parishioners from neighbouring villages and other parts of Goa. Students from St. Joseph’s High School, Aquem, Our Lady of Snow’s High School, Raia, and Saviour of the World High School, Loutolim, also took part in the day’s activities.

Annual Inter-Religious Meeting

2nd October, 2025: The Seminary celebrated its annual Inter-Religious Meeting on Gandhi Jayanti under the theme “Messengers of Hope, Witnesses of Unity.” Representatives of Islam, Hinduism, and Christianity participated in a symbolic sapling plantation, reflecting unity and harmony. Inspirational talks emphasized kindness, human values, and peace, followed by cultural performances, a pledge for peace and unity, and the National Anthem.

Sacred Heart of Jesus

16th November, 2025: The Seminary celebrated the Solemnity of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus with a solemn Eucharistic celebration, Eucharistic procession, and the consecration of the Seminary to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. The celebrations concluded with the traditional SSVP Fete/Kermes, bringing together the seminary community for an evening of fellowship, food, and joy.

Solemn Inaugural Mass

3rd July, 2025: The academic year began with a Solemn Inaugural Mass celebrated by Most Rev. Simião Purificacão Fernandes, followed by the blessing of the paddy fields and the annual transplantation. The inauguration included musical performances, a Lectio Brevis by Rev. Dr. Agnelo Pinheiro, and the participation of over 90 volunteers. A memorable highlight was the Auxiliary Bishop joining the seminarians in transplanting the paddy, exemplifying humility and care for creation.

Feast of St. Therese

1st October, 2025: The Philosophy Seminarians celebrated the Feast of St. Thérèse of the Child Jesus with a solemn Eucharistic celebration presided over by the Rector, followed by a cultural programme featuring dance, a skit, a song, and the grand release of their magazine, Jivit. The celebration reflected on St. Thérèse’s life and her inspiring message of doing small things with great love.
